The SDN deployment trends in the IT industry is turning a new leaf with the advent of flexible networking via microservices automation. In parallel, network optimization solutions in terms of connectivity available to the cloud with SD-WAN is getting boosted with the upcoming adoption of hybrid cloud solutions on the enterprise. Enter ZEVENET! Operating as an R&D elite force, the company provides high-tech networking and security open-core based solutions. “We have created two different workgroups to be joined with open communities focused in both microservices and SD-WAN development and lead the next Internet architecture,” Laura García, the CEO of ZEVENET. As such, the company is providing a disruptive and fresh vision of the networking sector, driven by innovation without limits or vendor locking. They deliver cutting-edge technology that improves user experience.
ZEVENET provides efficient and broad load balancing methods to make applications of any nature scalable in an efficient way, using software offload mechanisms to accelerate the traffic in microservices, containers infrastructure, and SD-WAN deployments. “Support of stateless networking for both more scalable and flexible networking and also to improve performance have been areas of research and development at ZEVENET with great success,” states Laura. Further, she mentions that native dual-stack with support of NAT64/NAT46 is on the company’s roadmap for this year.
ZEVENET utilizes a client-centric approach to implement a comprehensive REST API with full open specification that permits the complete integration in an SDN infrastructure via the capabilities of programmability, agility, and a central controller.
To achieve this, the whole product and solution should be API-based, and as native as possible, partial API support for enterprise doesn’t work. For that reason, ZEVENET converted all their core projects to API native processes some years ago. In addition, API concepts and design philosophy should follow standards and open conventions as much as possible to make it easy for DevOps to integrate different solutions with similar concepts. To this end, REST API is quite favorable not only to support such integration but also to provide comprehensive API validation and improve security.
What differentiates ZEVENET is the fact that it is a complete SDN multiplatform solution-focused in the application delivery. This eases the networking integration with the smart routing system, security system for intrusion prevention and detection system, load balancing, clustering system and more, which makes the DevOps only have to focus in the application but with the flexibility to be integrated with any networking architecture or environment, both software and hardware. Laura cites an example where an important global logistic corporation is managing more than 3,000 SSL certificates with ZEVENET and just one virtual service. The creation, renewals, and revocations are completely automated using the REST API system. “ A Global security integrator is using our stateless networking technology to distribute very high logging traffic to perform IA processing to detect and protect against attacks in real-time,” she adds.
Founded in 2010 as an open source project and for enterprises in 2012, ZEVENET has been always engaged with open source notions and with fostering the evolution of the technology by being part of the wide open community and contributing to more than 20 open source projects. The company has a big amount of their own open source projects in its listing. Apart from the great product and advanced solution, ZEVENET’s customers feel secure and confident with its team. “We love challenges, so we’re always open to provide the best solution for every request with teamwork, passion, openness, excellence, and innovation. Proof of that is the more than 95% of renewals from our customers,” concludes Laura.
